A dark pitched volume over a walled forecourt, opening at the rear onto a long pool terrace cut into the slope.
Two conditions, one house: a controlled, almost agricultural form on the approach, and a fully open, terraced landscape on the garden side.
Two faces, one plan.
The forecourt is enclosed on three sides and paved edge to edge, with planting used sparingly and a single sculptural element holding the space. Nothing of the rear condition is visible from there.
A pitch on the street, flat planes at the garden.
The pitched roof gives the arrival elevation a recognisable profile. It is the only sloped element in the project.
At the rear that language stops. Broad steps, a timber deck and a long pool run parallel to the contour, and the roof over the terrace flattens out entirely.
